Our office has led the way in filing cases under the new 2005 Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act, filing over 100 cases within the first six months of the laws effective date.

Your free initial consultation is with either attorney Lynn A. Lape or Rebecca Lindner. All appointments are scheduled for one hour, at which time the attorney will interview you about your present circumstances and explain how bankruptcy may or may not help you. There is no commitment to our firm or to filing bankruptcy at this initial meeting.

Under the 2005 Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act, all debtors are required to obtain pre-bankruptcy credit counseling within 6 months of filing to qualify for bankruptcy protection. The cost for the credit counseling ranges from $35 - 50.00. A list of approved credit counseling providers can be obtained at http://www.usdoj.gov/ust/eo/bapcpa/ccde/index.htm. In addition to completing a pre-bankruptcy credit counseling interview, Debtors must provide the law office with a full six months of proof of income plus their tax returns for the prior 2 years in order to qualify for bankruptcy protection.
